Do I still need to contact my local depot to arrange a collection?

No, your collection details will be communicated via ‘Collect From Me’.  

How do I arrange a scheduled collection?

First of all contact your local depot to ensure that this is setup on our central system. To find contact details for your local depot, use our online ‘Depot Finder’. Once complete and set up, click on ‘E-Shipping’ then ‘My Preferences’. Then click on ‘Collection Defaults’ and tick the box next to the text ‘Do Not Prompt for Collection’ - this will ensure that you are not prompted for a collection for the days specified to your local depot.

How do I arrange a manual/ad hoc collection?

To arrange a manual collection, click on ‘E-Shipping’ then click on ‘Arrange a Collection’ then click ‘Collect From Me’. Amend this screen to reflect your collection date/time etc. then click on ‘Create’ to create the collection.

How do I arrange a collection from another address and deliver it back to myself or an address of my choice?

This is what’s known as a 3rd party collection. To arrange a 3rd party collection, click on “E-Shipping” then ‘Arrange a Collection’ then click ‘From a Different Address’. Amend the screen to reflect your collection details, then your delivery details. You can arrange to have the parcel collected from any address in the UK & Ireland and can deliver it back to your account address (using the “deliver back to my account’ address tick box) or to any country specified in the drop down selection under the delivery address options.

How will the collecting depot be notified?

The system automatically sends an electronic message to the collecting depot and an electronic record is received in the depot’s own control system.

Can I create a collection from an International address?

No, unfortunately on our website you can only collect from a UK postcode or Republic of Ireland. If you do need to arrange a collection from outside the UK & Ireland then we have a dedicated imports team that can assist with your request – 08700 75 85 95 or email imports.ice@geopostuk.com

Can I view the history of collections arranged?

Yes, click on “E-Shipping”, then click “Arrange a Collection” then click “Collection History”. This will display any collection arranged for your account. To track the collection, click on the magnifying glass on the right hand column. This will take you to another screen to track the collection. Please note if the collection has not been made then you will need to use the “Review-It” section. This section can be found by clicking on “E-Shipping” then “Arrange a Collection” then “Review It”. This section allows you to specifically track collection numbers and advises if the collection has been successful or not.

How can I change the collection address for my account?

The collection address for your account can be amended by speaking to your local depot. They have the functionality to add/amend collection addresses for your account. To find contact details for your local depot, use our online “Depot Finder”.

I’ve noticed that notification emails and notification text (SMS) can be sent, how can I arrange to have this set up on my account?

The website has the functionality to send a notification sms and/or email to the details provided when submitting the collection. To find out about this service please call our Sales Support team on 0500 005 005.

Can I add collection address entries to my address book?

Yes, when you have defined all fields relevant for your collection, chose a short name of your choice as long as you haven’t used this before, then just click save. You can now select this address for future collections and shipments by typing it into your short name field.

How can I cancel a collection?

To cancel a collection click on “E-Shipping”, “Arrange a Collection”, “Collection History”. Any collection that has been arranged that can be cancelled online will have a “Cancel” option next to it.

Can I set default collection preferences?

The website has the functionality for each login to enable the user to set specific collection defaults to save time when creating collections. To amend your default collection information please click on “E-Shipping” then “My Preferences” now click on “Collection Defaults”. You have the option to define your default Product, Service, Reference1, Number of Items, Weight (kg) and close time. Once set, whenever you arrange a collection from another address, the criteria you chose will be shown in the specific fields. You can go back and change these defaults as many times as you like.
