Foodstuff and Personal Effects to Thailand Please note that the consignee needs to have an import license in order to import Foodstuff and Personal Effects into Thailand by Express mode, since these products require formal clearance process.
FUEL CRISIS – UGANDA Please be advised that Uganda is facing an acute fuel crisis as its fuel transit route is cut due the election violence in Kenya.
The situation is likely to get worse if the transit route remains inaccessible. Delays are to be expected.

CIVIL UNREST – KENYA Please be advised that due to ongoing political tension following the results of the recently held national elections, there has been a surge of violence in Nairobi and other Kenyan cities.
Rioters have gone a rampage blocking roads and setting fire to buildings and vehicles. Roads are currently closed and all Government, Public and Private Offices, Educational Institutions, Shops and Establishments are expected to remain closed.
The Government has taken necessary steps to stop this crisis.
Kenyan customs was closed from December 25th, 2007 until December 30th, 2007. No import material has been cleared since 24th December 2007.
Further clearance and deliveries delays are to be expected.
Please hold all escalations until further notice.

PROHIBITED - LIQUIDS Please be advised that the shipment of all liquids is strictly prohibited throughout the AIR CLASSIC / EXPRESS ARAMEX NETWORK. Any shipments containing liquid substances will be held upon arrival for Return (at origins cost) or Destroy.
TURKMENISTAN Please be advised that no service is provided to TURKMENISTAN
NON DOCUMENTS INTO THE GAZA STRIP Please note that sending Non document shipments into Gaza will be suspended until further notice. All shipments will be return at origin cost.
Only non software CDs will be accepted and the quantity should not exceed 10 CDs.
SENDING CHEMICAL / MEDICAL / TELECOMMUNICATION SHIPMENTS INTO SAUDI ARABIA Please be advised that sending Chemical / Medical / Telecommunication shipments into Saudi Arabia requires having an approval by the consignee from any of the below ministries prior to sending the shipment:
- Ministry of Industry for Chemical shipments - Ministry of Health for Medical shipments - Ministry of Communications for Telecommunication shipments
Therefore, such shipments should be held at origins, and depending on the shipment’s destination, an email should be sent to either JED, RUH or DHA Operations teams, so that they can contact the consignee and arrange for the needed Ministry approval. Once the confirmation is obtained from the destination, the shipment can be forwarded normally.
* Please note that any charges incurred for moving such shipments without an approval will be debited to the origin as well as the cost of returning the shipment back.
UNACCEPTABLE COMMODITIES IN SWEDEN The following “Unacceptables” are the list of commodities that cannot be delivered in Sweden.

Any shipments alerted with the mentioned description will be held upon arrival for Return or Destroy.
Sweden can only hold these shipments for 3 days, and will raise a problem Queue upon arrival mentioning that it is unacceptable. In the meantime the origin must respond within a deadline of 3 days weather they would like to destroy or create an SRN for the return.
If origin does not respond within the deadline, then shipment will be automatically destroyed at the destination without email notification, and InfoAXS will be updated as destroyed due to non-acceptable commodity.
If any of these commodities are needed to be sent to Sweden, then origin should communicate by email for a prior authorization and for a confirmation on the extra charges (in case the service could be made available).
UKRAINE: CUSTOMS CLEARANCE/PRIVATE PERSON Please be advised that all goods for a private person imported into the Ukraine, LV and HV shipments are held by Customs. In order to arrange clearance of shipment private person must pay custom duties and taxes. The rate of tax and duties depends on the commodities (customs tariff number). Payment of tax and duties in accordance with declared value of goods is mandatory.
Receiver must provide to customs broker the next documentation for clearance: - hand written letter-request to Customs with detailed description of imported goods - Copy of receiver’s passport Please pay attention, that if clearance is taking place in other location then IEV-Kiev, receiver has to be present in Customs department during clearance formalities.
Invoice must be printed or written in English. It must contain detailed address of receiver, full name and contact telephone number. Invoice must show detailed description of goods. Goods descriptions as 'parts', 'samples', 'gift' or part or model numbers are NOT allowed. If general description of goods is used, new invoice will be requested from origin.
Invoice must show the true value of goods. Undervalued goods are forwarded to Customs Tariff Department for examination and it causes delays in clearance process up to 14 days. Zero value in Invoice is NOT allowed.
Food items, such as products of animal origin; products of vegetable and plant origin; fats and butters of animal or vegetable and plant origin; ready to use food products; waxes of animal or vegetable and plant origin; alcoholic and soft drinks; vinegar; tobacco and its substitutes are prohibited to import in Ukraine for private person Customs non-tariff control requires from receiver to provide permission's from definite State Authorities ( for e.g. Ministry of Healthcare, Ecological Control Committee, Radiological Control Committee, Center of Product Certification , Frequency Control Center etc..).The necessity of permission depends on commodity tariff number.
All restricted shipments or shipments refused by receiver will be returned to origin. It is not authorized by Customs to dispose or abandon them.
MEDICATION IMPORTATION RESTRICTIONS IN SWITZERLAND Swiss regulations prohibit the importation of medication exceeding 50mg by private individuals. All shipments above the amount will be either sent back or destroyed.
FOOD SAMPLES - PALESTINE As of today November 15th 2007, an approval from the Israeli ministry of agriculture is required prior to sending food samples into Palestine. Please be sure to contact the JRS office before forwarding any shipments containing food into Palestine.
HIGH VALUE SHIPMENTS INTO BRAZIL Please note that value shipments into Brazil (above 200.00 USD) are held in MIA hub until the receiver has paid the duty charges at the destination. According to US customs regulations, this hold period is not to exceed 15 days. Origins will be prompted for instructions on the 10th day of hold. If by day 14, if the receiver has not paid duties and taxes or origin has not advised to clear as Freedom or Abandon, the shipment will undergo Immediate Export procedure, it will be rerouted back at the origin’s expense on a separate consol.
SHIPMENT SENT TO RUSSIA Please note that maximum value limit for any shipment sent to Russia is 850 USD. Commercial shipments with a value greater than maximum value are prohibited and will not be accepted into Russia.
INDONESIA Please note that the below instructions have to be followed in order to avoid any clearance issue with the Indonesian customs authorities. Maximum acceptable weight per Non document shipments is 100kg and for document 10kg.
BELARUS
Please be advised that Non Documents shipments are not accepted into Belarus until further notice. Only Document shipments service is available.
KUWAIT Please be advised that due to strict checking for all non documents shipments in Kuwait customs, additional delays in clearance have to be expected.
DELIVERY DISRUPTIONS We remind you that the delivery of shipments is affected in the following countries:
IRAN IRAQ (Baghdad and Basra cities)
INDIA Please note that effective today and as per the new customs regulations in India, all kinds of tapes will be considered as high value shipments and will be detained in customs for valuation and will be cleared after investigation by the DRI ( Directorate Revenue Intelligence )
ANDORRA In addition with the invoice, the attached document "Autorizacion de despacho y representacion" is required for all shipments to Andorra as for private shippers, consignee as for companies. . It has to be filled and stamped by the sender with the information concerning the receiver. Please find the translation of the fields: - "Empresa" = Company name - "Numero de identification Fiscal" = Fiscal number - "Domicilio fiscal" = Fiscal address -"El que suscribe" = Name of the person who complete the document. -"En //// a ///de ////place"= date signature and stamp. The document can also be provided by GeoPost Customer Service csdpd@sodexi.fr. In case this document is not joined with the parcel, delays in deliveries have to be expected.
EUR1 Documents
Please be advised that from 1st August 2004 authorisation of EUR1 Certificates can no longer be effected at the Port of Export. The only locations able to approve EUR1 documents will be:
1. HM Customs and Excise
2. Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
3. British Chamber of Commerce
In view of this change by HM Customs and Excise and to prevent delays, it is important that all EUR1's are approved before we receive them. If we do not receive them or they are unsigned this will lead to a delay in shipping.
