Following a major road incident, the M6 was closed between Junctions 33 and 34 during Thursday afternoon and evening. Traffic was diverted onto routes that then also became grid-locked and when it was allowed to rejoin the M6, there were further disruptions between Junctions 16 and 17.
On the whole it was a particularly bad night for our drivers, some of whom spent 6 hours in a traffic jam.
Our Hub team did their best to recover the situation and keep any disruption to an absolute minimum, but the delays did result in our national sort being delayed for 60 minutes before we could send all parcels onward for delivery.
All parcels have been sorted and will be out for delivery today, but we wanted you to be aware of just what a difficult night we had, but that our aim is to always to ensure your customers get the best delivery experience possible.
